About the Event
As you know, March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month – a time set aside to help raise awareness about colorectal cancer and the importance of early detection.
History
Last year, several of our healthcare partners joined us in sponsoring the Second Annual Colorectal Cancer Awareness 5K Walk/Run. The response from the community was phenomenal! Nearly 130 individuals participated in the 5K, raising more than $5,000 for Lake Cumberland Friends, a 501 C-3 organization dedicated to providing financial assistance to local cancer patients.
Event Details
The 4th Annual Colorectal Cancer 5K Walk/Run will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012. Registration will begin at 7:15 a.m. and the race will begin at 8:30 a.m. We are looking forward to another fun-filled day including an informational fair, refreshments and door prizes in addition to the 5K.
Entry fee will be $20 per person in advance or $25 on the day of the event. Pre-registration must be received by March 10th to be guaranteed a T-shirt. Proceeds from the event will go to Lake Cumberland Friends for the purpose of assisting patients for colorectal cancer screening.
Become a Sponsor
We want to invite you to be one of the sponsors to help underwrite the costs for this year's event. Each sponsor will be appropriately recognized based on their level of investment. For added visibility and to educate our participants, sponsors may also set up informational booths at the 5K. There are three scholarship levels from which you can choose:

Deadline for sponsorships is Wednesday, February 15. You may mail your check* to Lake Cumberland Surgery Center at 301 Langdon Street, Somerset KY 42503, or we will be happy to pick it up.

*Checks should be made payable to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, who will be responsible for payment of all expenses. Excess funds, if any, will be donated to Lake Cumberland Friends.
